- He was the music director at his church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
- He is the fifth of 6 children in his family.
- Yup, he was also a professional truck driver.
- Danny Gokey set-up his own non-profit Cause foundation named: Sophia’s Heart to help disadvantaged children. A heartfelt idea after his late wife Sophia.
- He has opened for Sugarland, Taylor Swift.

I really loved to watch Danny when he was on American Idol 🙂 He is such an inspiration for me to become my own artist and not let anyone affect what i want to sing about! 🙂
