Can you imagine having the highest quality herbs, fruits, blossom’s and spices all in one place? Well you got it, in the Mighty Leaf Iced Tea. This company was so kind to send me four boxes of artisan-crafted Mighty Leaf Iced Tea, a Takeya Iced Tea pitcher, and a Takeya glass water bottle with a silicone wrap for me to experience and review. All views and opinions of the company or products are my own and were not viewed or influenced by the company or anyone prior to posting this review.
I have to say for someone that loves tea, it was wonderful. This is the first DIY iced tea I have tried that did not have any bitterness to it at all. It was very fresh with an abundant aroma. It truly felt like it was right out of your garden. Here are the Four kinds of iced tea they offer, and I have tried them all:
- Calypso Mango- An indulging blend of luscious mango and tropical fruit that drenches South Indian black tea leaves. A sweet and cooling fresh-brewed iced tea with a rich, amber hue.
- Ginger Peach- Made from sun-swelled peaches and delicate ginger that infuse a refreshing blend of Indian black tea leaves. A blissful and lightly sweet fresh-brewed iced tea with a golden hue.
- Organic Black- Made of refreshingly rich and smooth south Indian organic black tea leaves. Hand-picked on the dewy slopes of the Nilgiri mountains, these vibrant organic tea leaves unleash a fresh iced tea with dark amber hue.
- Sunburst Green Tea– A crisp taste of sun ripened oranges and sweet citrus that brighten mountain-grown Chinese green tea leaves. A cool and vibrant fresh brewed iced green tea with a light emerald hue.
My family and I have always made tea the old fashioned way by putting 4-8 tea bags in a large pitcher or jar & placing it out in the sun for 4-6 hours. It is fun to watch the transition, but who wants to take the time these days. Especially when Mighty Leaf Tea makes it so easy and it actually tastes better.
My husband not being a big tea drinker absolutely loved the Calypso Mango Iced Tea, as did I. We loved it without having to add any sugar or other additives. Unlike most sodas Mighty Leaf Tea is free of sugar, calories and artificial flavors. With the temperatures hitting the 90’s, and our home not having A/C since we live in snow country, these tea’s were quite a refreshing surprise.
Each Tea Bag makes a half gallon of delightfully aromatic Iced Tea. The whole-leaf teas are much too big for a standard tea bag. Mighty Leaf Iced Tea bags are designed with their own silken, artisan Tea Pouches™. They hand-stitch them with unbleached cotton, without using staples or glue which I love about them. I mean these are the largest tea bags I have ever seen! Perfectly portioned to produce a half gallon of tea each.
I am a tea lover, and a bit of a tea snob. I usually find that depending on the tea’s I try they are too bitter, or too sweet. That was not the case here, each of the four flavors were perfectly blended starting with an aroma that keeps you wanting more, and an ever so slight after taste that turns you into an addict!!! Ha! Needless to say I loved them. 🙂
So how long does it take?
About 5 minutes!!! No Really, 5 minutes is all that it took me to brew.
I found that brewing my own Iced Tea saved me a lot of money over purchasing individual bottles of tea I would normally drink at $2.60 a bottle. By using mighty Leaf Iced Tea the cost was approx. .37 cents per 16 oz serving. I am all about being frugal, especially when it is something I enjoy so much.
The other items I received and LOVED was a Takeya (heat-safe & PBA Free) Pitcher and a Takeya personal glass water bottle. If anyone knows me, they know I’m a bit of an organic, non-toxic Mom…So the fact that these are glass and PBA Free was an excellent bonus.
